A Pair of George III Mahogany Open Armchairs Attributed to John Linnell
With oval medallion shaped back with guilloche-carved border enclosing pierced foliate scrolls, centred by a patera, with leaf-carved arms above serpentine padded seat covered in crimson watered silk, with guilloche-carved seat rail, on square reeded tapering legs with lotus-leaf pinched feet. A chair from the same suite was sold at Christies, London , Important English Furniture and carpets , 24 November 2005, Lot 76 for £16,500.
